Purpose: RA’s Draftsman/Drafting Technician Test is useful for screening potential employees who will be tasked with preparing diagrams, drawings and layouts for a variety of projects including those related to architecture, construction, machinery and infrastructure. These technicians ensure that drawings comply with company specs and industry best standards and practices.
About the Test: This test takes approximately 30 minutes to complete and contains 3 parts:
- An untimed personality test
- A 5-minute timed 3-D aptitude test
- A 7-minute timed 2-D Reasoning/ Form Pattern aptitude test.
When to Use It: The Draftsman Test should be used to find detail-minded employees who can effectively problem solve. The most successful candidates will also be good time managers, able to work alone or collaboratively and possess the interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external customers.
Target group: We recommend using this test for the positions of CAD Draftsman, CAD Operator, Drafter, Draftsperson, Survey Draftsman, Designer Draftsman, or Engineering Technician, among other technical roles.
What the Report Gives You: The report provides a graphical display of aptitude and personality trait scores, score interpretation guidance–including a detailed list of strengths and developmental concerns–and suggested interview questions.
Testing Process: RA’s online personality testing can be done from any device with a reliable internet connection. The use of mobile phones is discouraged. Test results are provided immediately.
